Minnesota Certified Nurse-Midwife, Mary Rossi, was honored with an award at the American College of Nurse-Midwives 56th Annual Meeting in San Antonio, TX in May.
The award given was the Public Policy Award, which recognizes legislative, regulatory, or health policy efforts that furthered the profession of midwifery or have had a significant impact on the practice of midwifery nationally or locally. This was given to her for her work locally on birth center legislation.
Another Minnesota CNM, Rebeca Barroso, was also an award winner. She was presented with the W. Newton Long Fund Award given by the ACNM Foundation. This award is given to midwives seeking funding for projects which relate to the advancement of nurse-midwifery.
