Birth Matters Minnesota: a Conference with Ina May Gaskin

Called “the midwife of modern midwifery” by Salon,  Ina May Gaskin, MA, CPM, will be in the Twin Cities speaking on her new book, Birth Matters: A Midwife’s Manifesta, a spirited manifesta that demonstrates why birth matters to us ALL, and how to trust women, value birth, and reconcile modern life with a process as old as our species.

If you are a midwife, a labor & delivery nurse, a doula, a physician, a health sciences student, a parent, or anyone who cares about the health and empowerment of women and families, you will not want to miss the chance to meet Ina May!

A woman who gives birth in the U.S. today is more likely to die in childbirth than her mother was. With one in three babies born via cesarean, the U.S. ranks behind 33 other nations in neonatal mortality rates and 40 other nations in maternal mortality rates.

The Birth Matters Minnesota conference includes several types of events, both open to the public and for providers only. This website is your guide to all of the week’s events, including contact information for the various sponsors and hosts.
